Nairobi, Kenya | By Michael Wandati | Homicide detectives have identified the main suspect in the brutal murder of two women and a young girl in Eastleigh, whose bodies were discovered on October 24.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has released a photo of Hashim Dagane Muhumed, 24, who is believed to have driven the vehicle used to abduct the victims on October 21.
CCTV footage captured the Nissan Note picking up the victims from their Eastleigh residence just hours before their bodies were found in separate locations. The car was later abandoned at Wakulima Market near the ENA Coach station and has since been towed to DCI Headquarters for forensic analysis.
The DCI is now urging the public to provide any information that could lead to Muhumed’s arrest. One suspect is already in custody as the investigation unfolds.
On a fact-finding mission, detectives have revisited multiple crime scenes while the victims were laid to rest at Lang’ata Cemetery. Early findings suggest that after the first body was disposed of in Machakos County, the suspect stopped to refuel the vehicle.

An accomplice, who was reportedly in contact with Muhumed on the night of the murders and shared a rented house with him in Eastleigh, has also been questioned. The landlord, who allegedly rented the premises to Muhumed without official documentation, has given a statement as well.
Police have also detained two individuals in Nairobi’s CBD who sold the suspect a mobile phone worth Ksh 23,000. At the time of purchase, Muhumed reportedly left the contact number of a woman at the shop.
Expanding their probe, detectives gathered additional evidence from a residence in Bahati, Buruburu, as part of their ongoing investigation.
