FUFA announces 4-year deal with Umbro to supply sportswear to Uganda Cranes

Kampala, Uganda | URN | Umbro, an English Sportswear and Football Equipment supplier has signed a partnership to be the official technical sponsor of the Federation of Uganda Football Association [FUFA] for the next four years.

The partnership that extends to all FUFA’s affiliated teams will see Umbro supply both men’s and women’s national teams with high-performance match kits, training and off-field apparel, as well as equipment. 

The reigning CECAFA Cup champions now join seven other African nations in wearing the uniform, increasing the brand’s sponsorship portfolio to 34 clubs and eight national teams across Africa.

“Umbro is passionate about the support of African football at all levels and we trust this partnership will transcend beyond kit sponsorship into a meaningful relationship for the team, our brand, and the broader African football community,” says Umbro South Africa’s CEO, David Ricketts.

Speaking on the partnership, FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo said that in its vision to become the number one football nation in Africa, FUFA is always looking at creating new partnerships with strong brands, the reason it chose Umbro. He adds that Umbro’s attraction to the team its a result of their continual improvement that he says has left fans ‘yearning for more.’

He says the new kits will excite fans much more. “The designs are matching the latest global trends and we look forward to unveiling these kits within the new year.”
