Koboko, Uganda | URN | A male passenger has died aboard a Nile Star Bus midway through his journey to Koboko district, in the Northern Region of Uganda.
Carlos Nginya boarded the Nile Star Bus in Bweyale on Tuesday 9, March 2021 afternoon en route to Koboko but died before reaching Nebbi town.
According to available information, Nginya spent four days in Bweyala where he had gone to check on his relatives but decided to return home because of ill health.
Abdulatif Atiko, an employee of Nile Star Bus Company, says when the bus stopped for a health break mid-way through the journey in Pakwach district, the deceased got out for a short call and collapsed in the toilet.

He says that they assisted him to get back on the bus, but he passed on before reaching Nebbi town. Atiko explains that the postmortem from Arua Regional Referral hospital shows that the deceased died of a heart attack.
The deceased’s uncle Samuel Amule, says that he had a history of heart, liver and spleen complications. His body has been taken to Koboko for burial.
