Museveni aides who flew with him to Dubai test positive for COVID-19
President Yoweri Museveni on Oct 5, 2021, returned to Uganda from a 3-day working visit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Kampala, Uganda | URN | Three presidential aides who recently travelled with President Yoweri Museveni to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Addis Ababa have tested positive for COVID-19.

President Museveni himself tested negative but is set to be retested according to physician Joseph Okia.

“The staff have been isolated and are receiving care. The president and other members of the team tested negative and will be retested. This highlights the continued difficulty of safe travel during the pandemic and the importance of testing all inbound and outbound travellers,” he said in a tweet.

President Museveni returned from a 3-day working visit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) where he attended the Dubai Expo 2020 where Uganda is exhibiting her products and investment potential and opportunities.

In Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Mr. Museveni attended the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed who started his new 5-year term.
