Jinja, Uganda | URN | Busoga East police have recovered 666 bags of cement that were stolen from a driver at Musita trading center in Mayuge district.

The bags of cement were recovered from a warehouse in Idudi B ward in Idudi town council in Bugweri district. The warehouse owner fled into hiding and is still at large.

Police are yet to arrest any suspect in connection to the same. The cement was allegedly robbed from a trucker who was driving from Busia border enroute to Jinja city via the Musita-Lumino highway.

The driver, whose identity has been withheld told journalists that he was intercepted by two armed men at a fake roadblock in Musita trading center on Saturday 4, June 2022 night. They allegedly forced him out of the truck, confiscated his phone, and handcuffed him.
