A cruel father strangle and kills his son for eating bread without his consent

Police in the southwestern district of Bushenyi have arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly killing his son after he reportedly ate bread without the father’s consent.

Nelson Asiimwe, a resident of Kisibo village in Bumbaire sub county reportedly strangled Mark Asiimwe who is aged eight years. Asiimwe reportedly arrived home on Wednesday evening and found that Mark had consumed bread that the family had kept for today’s breakfast.

The suspect reportedly strangled the deceased to death using a bed-sheet he wrapped around the deceased’s neck.

The locals who moved in as the deceased shouted for helped were too late to save him.
According to Martial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi regional police spokesperson, the police saved the suspect from being lynched by angry residents.

He says that the suspect has been transferred to Bushenyi Police station pending investigations into the matter.

Tumusiime says that the police are also planning to have the suspect’s mental status checked by health workers as investigations continue.

The deceased has been a primary one Pupil at Bumbaire primary school.

This is the second incident in the Ankole sub region in less than a week

Reste Nisiima, 27,  a resident of Kashenyi village in Birere sub-county, Isingiro district reportedly caused the death of her own child by suffocating her.

Ninsima reportedly slept on top of her one month old child while under the influence of alcohol on the night of March 19, 2017.

The suspect is currently being held at Isingiro Police station.
