General Mugisha Muntu, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party presidential candidate has asked opposition political parties in Uganda to first address that challenges affecting free participation and their internal democracy if they are to win the 2021 polls.

Muntu, who is campaigning for re-election as FDC party president, says that the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party rides on the challenges and confusion with in opposition parties to suppress them.

He said this while addressing Forum for Democratic change party delegates at embassy Tours hotel in Ntungamo Municipality in Thursday.

The retired former army commander emphasized the need for FDC members to embrace and participate in the coming local council one election slated for next month.

He explained that opposition parties have in the past concentrated their efforts in urban centers, an issue he says has always undermined them and crippled their ability to make take steps forward.

Muntu is facing competition against Dr. Patrick Oboi Amuriat, the former Kumi county Member of Parliament.
