Luweero, Uganda | By Michael Wandati | Vincent Ssemata, a 28-year-old individual and the son of Cpl Fiikil Ssekate, a police officer stationed at the Central Police Station, Luweero, has tragically passed away in what is suspected to be a bar brawl.
The incident took place at the New Style Guest House and Bar in Kasoma Zone, Luweero Town Council, as confirmed by Regional Police Spokesman Sam Twiineamaziima.
On Sunday, January 28, 2024, James Mutebi, the Manager of New Style Guest House and Bar, discovered an unidentified deceased male adult with a deep cut on his neck near the bar upon reporting for duty. The victim was later identified as Vincent Ssemata, a resident of Kanyogoga village, Bweyayo Parish, Luwero Sub-county, Luwero district.

Regional Police Spokesman Twiineamziima reported that upon receiving the report, prompt action was taken, and a murder case involving a cutting weapon was registered.
The Scene of Crime was thoroughly examined by the Scene of Crime (Soco) and Homicide Squad from Luwero Central Police Station. Utilizing a Canine/Police Dog, four (4) suspects were apprehended to aid in the ongoing investigations.
As of the latest update, Ssemata’s body is at Luwero Hospital Mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.
