Soroti, Uganda | By Michael Wandati | An Egyptian national, Ahmed Zinhom Ibrahim Selim, 32, who had gone missing in Soroti, Eastern Region of Uganda last week, has tragically been found dead. Local residents located his body in Awoja Swamp on Saturday, March 2.
Oscar Gregg Ageca, the East Kyoga Regional Police Spokesman, has reported the apprehension of at least five individuals linked to the untimely demise of Ahmed Zinhom Ibrahim Selim. The suspects are currently under arrest and are expected to face charges of murder.
“Since the body of the deceased has been found, the charge against the suspects will be changed to match the nature of the offence of murder…,” Ageca said in a statement.

Zinhom, a resident of Cell A in Campswahili Ward, Soroti City, has ties to the individuals now under police scrutiny. The initial arrests include Muhammed Nabil Ali, who was in the company of the victim on the night of his disappearance, and Kisolo Mark, an employee of Zinhom. Kisolo, who had access to the victim’s residence on the night of his disappearance, has also been taken into custody.
Oscar Gregg Ageca states that the police are actively conducting further investigations into the case. Subsequently, the arrested suspects will undergo the legal process for prosecution.
